Transform your outdoor space with beautiful, durable and highly customisable Resin Bound Surfacing
South Cambs Resin Bound specialise in the transformation of commercial and residential spaces using environmentally friendly, SUDS compliant, hardwearing and permeable paving systems.

Fast Installation Low Maintenance
VUBA systems can often be installed in just 1–2 days and require minimal upkeep – no need for regular sealing, sanding, or weed removal as with block paving or asphalt.

Permeable and SUDS Compliant
Unlike traditional materials, VUBA resin surfaces are fully permeable, helping to prevent puddles and comply with Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) regulations.

Weed and Crack Resistant
Resin-bound surfaces resist weed growth and cracking, unlike block paving which often suffers from joint movement and weed invasion.
With 40+ colour blends, we guarantee the perfect look to compliment your home

We use the Vuba sub-base make-up for durability and performance
Base build up:
Surface
18mm-20mm
SRM Mid-Layer
The SRM spreads the load and allows fast overlayment
Base Coarse Layer
30mm-35mm
SRM Base-Layer
This provides structural support and load bearing capacity
Capping Layer
25mm of 5-10mm angular stone
No Fines Stone
125mm-225mm
Geotextile Membrane
Sub-Soil

Advantages of South Cambs Resin Bound VubaMac

---|---|---|---|---|
Permeable Asphalt | 40-70mm | Excessive | Low | 1-2 Days |
Permeable Concrete | 100-150mm | Limited | High | 7 Days |
VubaMac Base | 15-35mm | Flexible | High | 2 Hours |
Sub-Base Guidance
The entire system is dependent upon the integrity of the sub-base to be successful. Therefore it is importance careful attention is paid to this part of the process.
Geotextile Membrane:
A non-woven geotextile membrane is installed under the sub-base. This not only acts as a permeable separation barrier layer, which contains the substrate and stops it migrating and contaminating the sub-base above, but also provides structural support, spreading weight from above in a uniform fashion.
Suitable Granulometry:
Because you are installing a permeable system, all precipitation will eventually meet the sub-base. That means that if you have a sub-base with lots of fines, when the rainwater runs through it can swell or the fines will wash away. This is called ground heave. Conversely, an existing wet sub-base of fines will shrink once it begins to dry. A “no-fines” sub-base is therefore important. For a standard 150mm sub-base, we recommend 125mm of a 25-50mm clean stone, and then a 25mm capping layer of a 5-10mm stone.
Suitable Depth:
The standard depth is 150mm. However, the depth of sub-base required may deviate from the standard, dependent upon the sub-soil and / or other factors. For more information about Sub-Soils and how that might impact the sub-base, please see our Vuba Sub-Soils Datasheet. A "no-fines" sub-base is therefore important. For a standard 150mm sub-base, we recommend 125mm of a 25-50mm clean stone, and then a 25mm
capping layer of a 5-10mm stone.
Suitable Compaction:
Wherever possible, large compaction equipment like vibratory rollers should be used. Failing that, compactor plates can be used, but it’s worthwhile compacting in layers to ensure complete compaction throughout to prevent future ground settlement.
